Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born on the 12th of November, 1961, in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now Onesti] Romania). She was the first gymnast to score a perfect 10 on an Olympic event. Bela Karolyi was later Romanian Gymnastics Coach, came across Comaneci when she was just seven years old. Comaneci participated for the first time in the 1969 national junior championships, placing 13th. Following that, she took home the title of champion. At her first international event in 1972 a pre-Olympic junior meet for the communist-bloc countries she was awarded three gold medals In 1973 and 1974, she was the junior all-around champion. She defeated the Russian Lyudmila Torishcheva. She was a five-time European Champion, in her debut international senior competition in 1975. She took home four golds as well as a silver. She took home the American Cup in New York City in 1976, becoming the first woman to perform an backward double salto to perform dismounting from the barres that are not parallel. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. She began her career in the entertainment industry during her teenage years. During this time, she performed as an ice skating duo along with the older sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol was a professional as an entertainer as a teenager. She began her career as the figure skater who performed with her younger cousin Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show known as Ice Capades. These were shows that featured ice skating shows that were performed accompanied by theatrical music.
